Level Annuity

A level annuity pays out the same pension income throughout your life - it does not increase. It does however usually pay a higher starting annuity income than an escalating annuity.

Although you will get more income to start with than you would from an escalating annuity it will buy you less in the future because of the effects of inflation. 

The attraction of a level annuity is that it is certain, the annuity income you receive at the start will never change.
